Family Fued... New or Used Car!

Family Feud. Buy a new car (yes, we can ALL AGREE there is something VERY nice about a new car and driving it out of the showroom, no one else's "gump"... etc.) OR me saying, that's insane, we can get a good deal on a used car... We "usually" agree on big purchases, we have been "buttin' heads" this week...
And how can we complicate this... letting a 21 year old boy share his thoughts... I don't want a car payment...but yes, of course,  I'd love a new car. My husband does not want "someone else problems"... I'm positive there are "good" used cars out there. Today our son went to check out 2 cars... took both to a mechanic we trust (not an oxymoron in this situation)... he said a big NO to both... You see, if we purchase a "used" car, it's the one our son will drive... A LOT of family negotiation going on right now...  I'm really NOT a big car person, I want a safe and reliable car, my husband wants me to drive a new car, his is only a couple of years old and it's important to him (not to me) I'm VERY interested to see how this all pans out...

Have you sorted it out by now, then? I say buy a used one. It isn't so bad at all, especially if you consider the latest model. My husband and I are also trying to decide, same dilemma as yours. But our kid is still a toddler so I'm into safety than the show-off features. I wanted the Toyota Sienna we spotted a shop in Indianapolis. Used cars for sale are everywhere these days giving us a lot of choices. Two of the Indianapolis used car dealers I got the chance to talk to suggested good deals which are so tempting. We're still trying to decide between the Sienna and Camry. There are lots of things to consider in buying a car.

As long as the used car you're planning to buy is safe and reliable to drive then it's a good choice.

Well, there’s nothing wrong with buying a used car as long as it’s still in good condition. Sometimes, you can even find used cars that are almost as good as used cars. Your husband probably had his own reasons why he wanted a new one for you though, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Have you come up with a decision for this?

Why don’t you tell your husband to try and test drive a used car first? If he’s not satisfied with it, then it would probably be best to just buy brand new. This way, you can weigh the real difference between a used and a new car.
